Previously called the Recruitment International Awards, they have recently rebranded themselves as TALiNT International (TI) Awards.
About TI Awards
The TI Awards recognise innovation and best practices in the Japanese recruitment industry and is one of the most coveted and prestigious accolades in the recruitment world. It is also the time to celebrate the hard work and commitment of the team. With a wide range of local and global judges, they will be accessing and rewarding only the best recruitment companies and their people in a true celebration of the industry. The judging panel comprises of the most influential entrepreneurs, business leaders, and pioneers in recruiting.
Double wins at TI
Our team in Japan won Growth Company of the Year and Best Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiative of the Year. Both are a huge recognition for the team and are a testament of the hard work that everyone has put in.
Growth of the business
Growth Company of the Year recognises businesses that have detailed their profitability in the last three years, have accounted for the size of the business, sector specialisation and have demonstrated a sustainable growth. We attribute our success to multiple initiatives – including the events and conferences we have attended and hosted, the local partnerships, the regular meetings we hold with our clients and candidates, the development and investment of our people and most importantly our clear brand strategy where we focus our recruitment efforts on a specific set of niche markets.
Not only did the team in Japan managed to increase their revenues year-on-year, they have looked to diversify the business in areas that we can specialise in within our defined market specialism. And this is in line with what the market in Japan requires. For example, we have expanded into areas such as Salesforce in the last one year which has a growing community in Tokyo and are a certified consulting partner of Salesforce globally. This growth has allowed us to open up our second office in Tokyo.
In line with the growth of our business, we ensure to invest in our people through personal and professional development so that they are able to feel well-supported at every stage of their career with us. Below are a few examples of the training programmes we have:
- Recruitment Campus – a development programme designed for our new starters in their first six months with the company to equip them with the skills and knowledge required;
- Building Leaders’ Potential – a global leadership development programme that is designed to equip our senior leaders with the fundamental skills to thrive as a leader whilst supporting their career development;
- LEAP – a sponsor programme that helps to identify future leaders who are proven high performers and have the ability to engage and aspire their team. Our most recent LEAP session took place last week and our consultants across the Asia-Pacific region flew to Singapore for a two-day intensive training programme;
- Mentor Development Programme – designed to prepare senior consultants in becoming competent coaches and mentors;
Giving back to the community – CSR initiatives
Apart from making our employees’ wellbeing a priority, we have made the decision to give back to the community through our CSR programme. This includes our partnership with African Science Academy (ASA) in Ghana, raising funds to support SOS Children Villages, sponsoring The Knights in White Lycra (KIWL), celebrating Christmas at the House of Sarang Manila and encouraging our employees to take two days of paid leave to share their skills through volunteering.
Results from a sustainable CSR programme
Our CSR programme has benefitted more than 6,245 people since 2011. SThree Foundation has funded projects that diversify the STEM candidate pipeline to ensure more people benefit from a career with purpose and achieve sustainable income.
We have also reduced our carbon footprint and recognised activities that have an impact on the environment by taking a call on reducing work travels whenever possible and encourage the use of virtual conferencing and communication.
Our contributions have made a significant impact to SOS Children’s Villages last year as per the testimonial below:
“I would like to take this time to extend my heartfelt gratitude for giving me the opportunity to have worked with you through your partnership with SOS. It was indeed a great privilege to be part of a noble cause. It was incredibly great working with you,” said Noemi Encinares, Corporate Relations Head, SOS Children’s Villages.
Efua Adabie Head teacher African Science Academy, said: “On behalf of the African Science Academy, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to SThree for their commitment to the school.
“Their contributions will significantly help to make our vision a reality, ensuring more high achieving disadvantaged girls in Africa are given the opportunity to continue their education in STEM and go on to transform their communities with the skills they learn.”
A heartfelt thank you to our clients, candidates and employees
We really want to extend our gratitude to the judging panel for recognising our efforts, our clients and candidates for giving us the opportunity to partner with them in achieving their career and organisational goals and most importantly, our employees for believing in our purpose of bringing skilled people together to build the future. Without our people, winning these awards will not be possible.
