Today, WeAreTheCity released the names of its Top 100 Rising Stars and it gives us great pleasure to announce that SThree females secured two of these prestigious places.
Kayleigh Bottomley, Associate Business Manager for SThree brand Progressive Recruitment (London), came first in the HR & Recruitment Category. Mary Kay who works for Real Staffing as Associate Sales Team Manager was named one of the winners in the Sales Category.
“I am so grateful and proud to have won this! I joined SThree at the age of 20 and have loved my time here. I am so lucky to work for a company who are proud of its female employees and will promote them both internally and externally. I feel very privileged to be recognised with this award, but I would particularly like to thank my Manager Dave Curtis. Dave took a risk by hiring me 5 years ago, and from day 1 has supported me, trained me and invested in me. He has been an unbelievable Manager throughout the years and incredibly supportive,” Mary comments on her great achievement.
Kayleigh was equally as excited when she learnt about her win. “I’m really proud to have won a Rising Star Award; there were some really inspiring, impressive applicants so to have won is very exciting. I’ve worked hard for the last 6.5 years to provide an excellent Customer Experience and I think this award proves that this truly is the most important thing we can do in Recruitment at this time. I am extremely grateful for the platform my career with SThree has offered me in championing the key beliefs I hold in life, which is that everyone deserves an opportunity to reach their full potential.”
Focusing on the UK’s female talent pipeline
The Rising Star awards aim to showcase the pipeline of female talent in the UK and to create role models across 20 different industries and professions.
This year a new category was introduced to celebrate the efforts of senior individuals who champion gender equality, both within and outside of their organisations.
Over 850 entries were judged by a panel of 21 independent judges and over 28,000 public votes were received for the 200 shortlisted nominees from across 112 countries.
Vanessa Vallely, Managing Director of WeAreTheCity said: “It has been a total honour to run this year’s awards and highlight the achievements of so many amazing women. The calibre of entries was truly phenomenal.
"WeAreTheCity is very much about supporting the female pipeline and introducing these awards was a perfect opportunity to showcase the amazing talent of women across the UK. We are exceptionally proud of our winners and look forward to following their future success.”
