It’s with great pleasure that we announce that we were awarded the APSCo Award for Excellence for Diversity and Inclusion. We are honoured to have won this prestigious industry award recognising our commitment to creating a positive and inclusive work environment, where diverse opinions and perspectives are valued and a true meritocracy exists.
“I’m extremely proud of this achievement. We put so much work into making SThree a truly inclusive place to work and this award is testament to these efforts. I want to thank our Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) champions and sponsors across the world for supporting and influencing the achievement of our inclusion strategy. I would also like to thank our leadership team, our customers, mentors and mentees for their invaluable contribution in transforming our business and the recruitment industry,” says Diversity Manager Victoria Morgan after accepting the award.

How we are embracing inclusion
Promoting real diversity and inclusion remains one of the key focus areas of the global SThree strategy. We understand that only through developing a culture that empowers our people can we best support our customers.
"To bring about a more open and supportive culture, everyone in the business needs to work towards creating an environment where we all have the opportunity to succeed, regardless of background, and where people are valued for the different experiences they bring,” explains Managing Partner and Chair of Women in Recruitment Natasha Clarke.
That’s why we have launched a number of initiatives and programmes to support inclusion; flexible working, mentoring, and investing in the development of our current and future leaders, as well as in technology and innovation.
Key to our focus on inclusion is our Identity Programme. Created in 2011 to support the development and progression of women in the business, Identity has now evolved to embrace diversity in all its forms. The programme has provided tools and information, developed a support network, highlighted successful role models and held forums to share ideas. We have also built a global network of inclusion champions and sponsors across our entire global reach.
Thanks to ongoing initiatives such as the introduction of a behavioural based programme that supports managers to cultivate individual motivations and strengths of team members, SThree is making great strides in its goal to be a fully inclusive business, a commitment that comes from the top down.
Gary Elden, OBE and CEO of SThree elaborates; "At SThree, we are truly passionate about embracing inclusion in the workplace. If you follow things through, demonstrate the right behaviours and you’re successful, then you’ll get rewarded. You’ll get recognised – it doesn’t matter about your background, your gender, your religion or your politics. It’s about you as an individual”.
But it’s also our CSR initiatives centred around our theme of ‘transforming lives through skills and work’ which contributed hugely to the positive and supportive work culture we’re seeing in the business today; a commitment which has seen us being shortlisted also in the ‘CSR Initiative of the Year’ category at this year’s APSCo Awards.
About the APSCo Awards for Excellence
These annual awards organised by APSCo, the Association of Professional Staffing Companies, recognise and celebrate outstanding achievements in recruitment to drive innovation across the sector.
The focus of the awards is on how members are demonstrating and supporting the professional standards that APSCo embodies. Winners have to pass a rigorous assessment process that makes these awards the most prestigious accolade in professional recruitment.
Marilyn Davidson, Director of APSCo, about this year’s awards:
“These prestigious annual awards celebrate outstanding achievements in the recruitment arena and are a unique indicator of professional standards throughout the sector. The awards have become the premier showcase for innovation and best practice in professional recruitment, and are a great opportunity for firms to attract publicity and build their brand across the sector. Once again, we have been overwhelmed by both the volume and quality of entries this year. All of our finalists and winners have shown a real commitment to the ethos of APSCo and have demonstrated real excellence – they should all be extremely proud of their achievements”.
