Medium Recruitment Agency of the year finalist
We are truly humbled to be a finalist in the Medium Recruitment Agency of the year category. As a medium-sized agency, it has given us the opportunity to foster closer relationships with our co-workers and provide our employees with a supportive workplace culture. Aligned with our initiative of ‘Bringing skilled people together to build the future’, we invested in the following areas which helped to promote a sense of belonging, collective purpose and inclusion within the team:
•Staff incentive schemes to travel destinations such as The Whitsundays, Bali and Queenstown;
•Employee engagement programs such as Bootcamp Wednesdays, supporting charities such as R U OK Day, regional conferences and social events;
•Training and development programs such as CMEP training for aspiring managers, International Recruiters Business Certification for experienced recruiters and Recruitment Campus for new starters;
•Diversity and inclusion initiatives such as the IdentiFy program – our global initiative to help women within the business progress in leadership roles; and Hyden – a new brand within SThree aimed at addressing diversity issues in the workplace and eradicating diversity gaps;
•Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs: In December 2017, our CSR program raised $1.8 million for SOS Children’s Villages – a global charity that provides children with food, education and shelter. This year, we are very excited to embark on a new CSR initiative with the African Gifted Foundation (AGF), an organisation that runs science academies for hundreds of students in more than 10 African countries. Since 2010, the AGF has supported young women from a disadvantaged background to pursue studies in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) by way of financial aid and securing scholarships with global organisations such as Mastercard and universities.
At SThree, we also work together as a team to ensure that we remain focused on being innovative while maximising our candidate engagement, commercial achievement and contribution to the success of the recruitment industry.
•Our focus on commercial achievement
Last year, we expanded our business to Melbourne and built the infrastructure for leveraged growth. We focused on consultant productivity and continued to move towards cloud services for our operating systems. The successful launch of our Melbourne business has enabled us to establish ourselves as market leaders within the Australian recruitment industry with two major hubs in Sydney and Melbourne. Our physical presence in Melbourne has enabled us to increase our market reach and get more face-to-face interactions with our clients and candidates who are based in Melbourne. Our expansion has added both tangible and intangible value to the business through increased client engagement, more placements, greater contribution to profit and both a higher Net Promoter Score (NPS) and Employee NPS Score.
•Our focus on candidate engagement
At SThree, we have a strong focus on customer experience. We have set up the Contract Blueprint program to increase our engagement rate and created a framework that enhances our offerings on candidate care. Our excellent contractor care model has led to higher candidate retention and better access to referrals from candidates and clients across Australia. To find out more about our Contractor Blueprint Program, please have a read of this article published by Georgina Beavis, our Sales Analyst APAC at SThree who assisted in the launch of the program in Australia.
•Our contribution to the recruitment industry
SThree supports the recruitment industry by positively contributing to its growth, professionalism and reputation as well as actively promoting the learning and development of other members within the industry. Our business model focuses on building long term relationships with our candidates and clients beyond our recruitment offering. For example, we opened our consultancy branch to help our clients solve complex staffing issue and we collectively work to change the perception that recruitment is a male-dominated industry by promoting opportunities for gender equality within the industry.In recognition of our efforts in building a diverse and inclusive workforce, we won two awards at the Recruitment International Awards 2018 for Best Company to Work For and Best Training and Development Initiatives. We were also shortlisted for Best Corporate Social Responsibility and Best International Recruitment Agency.
Most Innovative Agency of the year finalist
We are very excited to be a finalist in the Most Innovative Agency of the year category. As candidates become more digitally-focused, we have enhanced multiple innovative platforms for easier interaction with our candidates and clients. Below are a few examples to show how we have embraced innovation in our service delivery:
•This year, we jumped from 16th to 6th place in LinkedIn's Top 25 Most Socially Engaged Staffing Agencies. We partnered with LinkedIn to improve our customer and client experience and engaged with our audience through market insights and thought leadership articles. We further measured customer experience by using the NPS.
•We use platforms such as Showcaser to share our knowledge of the recruitment sector with our clients and candidates. Showcaser is a video CV that was developed in-house to enable candidates to get their personality across through a video recording of themselves. Likewise, we encouraged our clients to use Showcaser to explain the culture and attractiveness of the role they are hiring for. This ensures we are not missing out on talent, just based on CVs.
•To become more readily available to our candidates digitally, we launched Talent Deck – a new smart job board aimed at IT talent and clients; and HireFirst – a hybrid recruitment platform which makes it easier and faster to screen, qualify and match candidates with clients.
•We invested in The Sandpit, an incubator for HR start-ups and signed a development agreement with RoboRecruiter, a chatbot platform using multichannel robotic process automation to keep candidates engaged and databases refreshed.
•We launched SThree Consulting to audit our clients’ talent acquisition strategy and provide them with detailed insights and recommendations.
Through our demonstration of innovation and best practice in our human resources and employee enrichment programs, we were able to improve our employee and customers’ engagement and retention. Part of our strategy for the next five years is to continue innovating to future proof our business.
