Our Super Trips – Just one of many amazing perks of working at SThree

At SThree we think it’s important to celebrate success which is why we’re offering our employees the opportunity to win a place in an annual ‘Super Trip’.

This perk has a long tradition at SThree. For over ten years we’ve now been inviting employees who went above and beyond for their customers to join us on a 5* star holiday to places such as Vegas, Ibiza or Thailand.

This year, or more precisely this weekend, 50 of our employees from Sales and Support Services and offices from across the world will be taking off to Miami.

Looking at the gender mix of our winners, we’re delighted that four out of five categories allocated to our Sales Team in the UK&I have been won by women for their excellent customer service, dedication and hard work.

Let’s hear from some of the winners

Mital Jethwa Mital Jethwa

Mital Jethwa, Senior Recruitment Consultant for SThree brand Real, is thrilled to have been nominated in the trip’s customer experience category and rewarded a place on the Super Trip.

“Winning this trip demonstrates the great effort and dedication that my fellow SThree winners and I have put into our work. In the four years I’ve been with Real, I have not only been able to develop as a Consultant but also on a personal level by being involved in charity work helping raise money for SOS Children’s Villages and being selected as a SThree Foundation Ambassador.”

“I have had the opportunity to speak with senior women in the business such as Chief People Officer Natasha Clarke, attend women in recruitment events and most importantly, I have female mentors in my team, Lillie and Catherine and my manager Claire who I’ve been able to hugely learn from.”

What Chris Oddy, another one of our winners, likes most about SThree

Chris Oddy, Senior Principal Recruitment Consultant at Real, says being recognised this way allows him not only to network with some of the top performing team members across SThree globally but also provides new ideas and opportunities to improve himself.

Chris knows how important it is for one’s career progression to be supported by your employer and work for the right company: “Being part of a large organisation, with offices dotted all over the world, it’s up to you to decide in which direction you want to take your career, and then go after an opportunity that suits you best.”

Asking him, what he likes most about SThree, Chris mentions the fact that he can balance his life inside and outside the office.

“For me personally, I’m given the flexibility to accompany my running aspirations with my career. I also know some very successful colleagues who are doing secondments at the moment.”

“I also like the support I receive as a recruiter from Legal, Placement Support, Desktop Support, Marketing and more. This is something I rely on to ensure I can perform at my best.”

“Lastly, and most excitingly, I like how the company is starting to take a more ‘innovative’ approach. We’re transforming the way we have done things in the past, to ensure we remain at the top of our game as a recruitment company.”

Excited about the opportunities this trip will provide

Someone who’s also very much looking forward to the trip is Jenny Gladman, Senior Business Manager at SThree brand Huxley.

“I’ve never been to Miami so it’s safe to say that I’m pretty excited! I love the chance to take part in work holidays and find it’s a great opportunity to build relationships with people from other offices globally.”

Asking Jenny how SThree are supporting the career progression of women in the business, as the majority of our UK&I Sales winners are women, she says: “SThree doesn’t just ‘support’ women well, they actively encourage them to fulfil their potential.”

“I am happy to say, that I have never felt in any way disadvantaged by being a woman.”

Everyone is rewarded for their hard work

Sian Duval, Senior Candidate Consultant at Computer Futures, said after she’s learned about Miami, “this is a massive achievement for myself as this is my first incentive trip! It shows me that despite some challenges I have had throughout my time as a recruiter, if you keep at it with a vision, work to your strengths and face your weaknesses, anything is possible.”

Being one of an encouraging high number of women who won a place on this trip, Sian knows about SThree’s commitment to supporting women’s career progression.

“SThree has a great number of women in the business who are successful and show no signs of slowing down. What I like is how SThree share the wins of each individual and celebrate how they’ve grown in the business. It proves that there are no obstacles for women or anyone else in the business and that everyone is rewarded for their hard work.”

Someone who has also gone above and beyond and exceeded her targets by coming in first in two categories is Catherine Rock, Principal Recruitment Consultant at Real. “I never thought I would win, it means so much to me; it’s not just a trip it’s a milestone.”

“I remember when I first started I saw the likes of Jenny Gladman who is so successful and thought, that’s where I want to be…now here I am. Focusing on nurturing my relationships with my clients and contacts in the industry really paid off.”

“When I was a little girl, my dad worked in Sales too, and every year he jetted off with my mum to the most amazing places all over the world and now it’s my turn, I texted him as soon as I found out about Miami, and he responded ‘one down another 22 to go’. I couldn’t be more proud.”

A supportive team celebrating each other’s success

When we spoke with Louise Latif, Recruitment Consultant at Computer Futures, she confirmed how much taking part in this trip means to her. “I have been at SThree less than a year now and have already achieved so much. Going to Miami is another huge achievement for me!”

Since Louise started her career at SThree her perception of recruitment has also changed, “when I thought of recruitment I imagined a quite male dominated industry where people mostly focus on achieving their individual goals. However, my team at Computer Futures has proven me wrong. It’s an equal mix of men and women who support each other, celebrate each other’s success and have fun at the same time. It’s an amazing feeling to be awarded for your hard work!”
