OUR FUTURE LEADERS OF APAC MET IN SYDNEY FOR A 2-DAY TRAINING SESSION

Our future leaders of APAC met in Sydney for a 2-day training session

At SThree, we pride ourselves on the support we provide to all our people, around the world. Our tailored learning and development programme supports every individual to take control of their career, at every stage of your career with us.

In continuation of last year’s Certificate Management Essentials Programme (CMEP) that was held in Tokyo, this year’s session was held in Sydney with a new batch of attendees. The group was made up of future managers, as well as new managers.

It was an extremely engaging session, with a more diverse crowd and the addition of Daniel Batts, Learning & Development Manager who was previously based in the UK and was able to offer his global perspective during the session.

CMEP – Development plan for managers

CMEP is a programme designed to give our managers the skills, knowledge and behaviours they need to successfully manage and develop their team. This training also provides a platform for managers and managers-to-be to share their challenges as well as hear the success of others that they may learn from. Following this 2-day session, there will be follow-up sessions on the following:

-Quarterly 1-on-1 coaching with the learning and development team

-A blended mix of video-conference discussion groups with other CMEP cohorts

-Self-study assignments and sharing

-CMEP refreshers

-Projects

All of the above ensure that attendees who are part of CMEP would be able to have an actionable plan, alongside a group of comrades whom they can relate and rely on.

What do the participants think?

Felicia Ng, Marketing Manager of APAC MENA shared, “CMEP was an excellent platform for me to meet and interact with other managers in the business from across the region. I got to understand their challenges, difficulties and even picked up some management tips from those who have more experience. It’s a privilege for me to be part of this cohort – to learn, interact and exchange ideas with colleagues who work directly in the frontline of the business.”

Haruko Yamajo, Associate Sales Team Manager of Real Life Sciences in Japan mentioned, “CMEP was a great opportunity for me to get to know my colleagues across the region in a more in-depth level. It was incredible to have a platform that I can share with all the other managers, whilst working towards a common goal. Not only was this a very inspiring session personally for myself, but it taught me fundamental management skills which are key to help me support my team while developing myself. CMEP definitely gave me the extra boost in confidence and made me realise the key skills that I never knew I had.”

Rebecca Teague, Senior Consultant of Progressive Recruitment in Australia added, “CMEP is a really great way to learn the skills you need to manage a team effectively and teaches you different methods for different personalities. We also got to interact with colleagues from other offices through the sharing of techniques and experiences which were truly valuable to me and my career.”
