Lucy’s Career Journey
Lucy Earnshaw Named Best Woman in Professional Service Sales at WISA 2018
Lucy began her career with Progressive in the UK in 2011, as a Specialist recruiter within the Oil & Gas market. In 2015, Progressive’s Houston office began looking to build out a new team to break into the Power market.
Lucy applied for this new opportunity and moved across the pond. From day one she had a fierce attitude of someone who was eager to succeed. She also took her development very seriously and worked diligently to learn the intricacies of US contract recruitment.
Even after facing a setback in her market, Lucy didn’t give up. She kept focusing on the little things every day and learned from the most successful sales people around her.
“There is no secret to my success in sales and that is what I strive to propagate. My true market specialty is people. I genuinely care about what people want and strive to meet their expectations - this is clear to anyone who meets me,” advises Lucy.
Paying it Forward
Lucy is respected in the office, not only for her stand out performances, but because her colleagues know they can always come to her for training and advice. Over the course of her career, she has had great mentors and managers and wishes to pay that forward. “I am always humbled when people come to me for help,” says Lucy.
Additionally, Lucy is working hard to be an advocate for closing the gender gap, “It is well documented that women tend to ask for fewer promotions and pitch themselves for lower roles. I speak up when this happens and am not afraid to use my voice in a professional manner to raise awareness.”
“Specialist Staffing Group is continually evolving to ensure we are providing a supportive and inclusive culture for all of our employees to thrive. Leaders like Lucy are essential to empowering our people,” notes Morgan Kavanagh.
