Christmas in July has been a phenomenon in Australia over decades and first became popular in the Southern hemisphere simply because July is the peak month of their winter. The magic of Christmas lives on in many and here at SThree, we wish to use this opportunity to spread this love.
As part of our return to office and the era of digitalisation, we are very fortunate to be part of an organization that is giving the full support of going digital by providing everyone with an office laptop. This would mean that we will be moving from a desktop based environment to a fully equipped digital space. As such, we reached out to our charity partner The Smith Family for an opportunity to donate all of our desktops, mice and keyboards to them.
The Smith Family supports children, families and schools and believe that supporting a child’s education is the best way to help break the poverty cycle. This means that the desktops will be a great asset to those who cannot afford a computer or would appreciate having one to improve their learning.
Adrian Oldham, Director of our SThree Australia team shared, “I’ve had the honour of doing Christmas present drop-offs across Western Sydney for The Smith Family for the last few years and think these kits would be greatly appreciated by whichever school or child they go to. Christmas in July gives us an extra reason on why we can bring some magic to our charity partner this 2020.”
The Smith Family shared their gratitude, “Thank you so much for your generous donation of the monitors, keyboards and mouses. During the recent pandemic not only have the disadvantaged Australian students and their families that we support been heavily impacted, but so too have our staff and volunteers with more enquiries than ever being received over the last few months. With your kind donation it means we are able to ensure our staff can work from home safely and can answer these requests from families needing support, and also continue to receive and process lifesaving donations from our generous supporters.”
