SThree prides itself on its industry leading learning and development. Here Amy Broadbent, Principal Consultant for SThree brand, Real Staffing in our Leeds office, shares how her career has grown with SThree.
Why did you choose a career in recruitment?
I left school at 18 and went straight into cold calling/insurance sales for three and a half years. I was good at sales and knew I should build on those skills but wanted more of the career path SThree can offer. I joined in 2012 and have never looked back.
Tell us a bit about your role
I have worked my way up from Trainee to Principal Recruitment Consultant in Leeds, where I head up our Medical Devices division for the North. I mainly cover the Regulatory and Quality market, placing contractors into medical device companies. It’s so exciting to think I am placing people who are working on new, innovative and ground breaking devices that are changing people’s lives.
How has the training and development programme offered by SThree helped you in your career so far?
The learning and development at SThree is amazing. There are so many different aspects to it from classroom training to role play. I’m seven years into my job and I’m still benefitting from weekly training. It really is industry leading and has supported my career progression here. I’ve also benefitted from on the job learning, it’s been very inspiring and so interesting to be shown around the sites where they manufacture the products my candidates are helping to commercialise.
What do you love about Leeds?
Leeds is an amazing city which just keeps getting better. With new places opening every month and increased economic investments into Leeds over the next few years, it’s a very exciting time to be living and working in this city.
