As the Finance department for SThree, we’re continually striving to improve the level of service we provide our global business. The staff we hire play an important role in this. We’re looking for talented individuals to enhance our governance and communication while offering seamless transactional processing. Our aim is to establish ourselves as the department the business turns to when strategic and commercial decisions need to be made.

We focus on continuous improvement - of both our people and our performance. By leveraging our SAP systems as effectively as possible, we can deliver a world class globalised service.

Projects

We’re involved in a number of projects designed to improve the services we provide. These range from corporate simplification to advancements in our consolidation, reporting and planning systems. Finance is also working closely with the other Support Functions on the Magellan Programme. Together, we’re establishing how collaboration and adaptability can enable SThree’s ambitious growth plans.

Departments

AP Non Trade

Handles and processes the payment of all our Supplier invoices, staff expenses and corporate credit cards.

AP Trade & AP Helpdesk

Processes timesheets and invoices received from contractors on all brands. Ensures payments are processed in accordance with contractual payment terms. Also deals with timesheet and invoice queries from contractors.

Billing & Client Master Data

Processes and distributes contract invoices across SThree’s global operations. Accurately sets-up new client records and the subsequent allocation of credit limits.

Credit Control & Sales Ledger

Manages credit risk and processes the recording and allocation of customer remittances. Handles the debtor book and contacts customers for overdue payments.

Decision Support

Supports the Executives, Directors and Managing Directors in the decision making process. Links the Finance Department with the rest of the business. Provides ongoing financial and strategic advice, budgeting and forecasting support and new venture business cases.

Finance Solutions

Delivers Finance and company strategic projects. Leverages the SAP investment and continuously works to improve business processes in partnership with internal and external partners.

General Ledger

Produces historical accounting and financial information to report to the board and the financial markets. Ensures financial statutory compliance and the production of supporting financial data for the Minority Interest scheme.

Tax

Ensures tax compliance. Advises the Group on all Corporate, VAT and employment related issues.

Treasury

Acts as the in-house manager for all the SThree Group’s banking and financial risk management activities.

Case Studies

Dougal Crisp (Director of Finance, Tax & Treasury)

Dougal obtained his Accountancy & Law degrees in his native New Zealand before becoming a chartered accountant at Deloitte. Then, like most Kiwis, he got the travel bug and came across to experience life in the UK. Dougal has worked in various financial roles among the ‘Big Four’ and experienced corporate environments in two hemispheres. He joined SThree in 2009. He has a wealth of experience in accounting, tax and treasury coupled with a pragmatic approach to problem solving.

Anthony Fitzgerald (Head of Finance Transactional Processing)

Anthony joined SThree in 2001 as the Financial Controller of the Huxley brand. Back then, the business was decentralised. So his team covered all aspects of finance. From risk assessments and credit control to business analysis and forecasting. Today, Anthony is the Head of Financial Transactional Processing for the Group. He’s a highly respected finance leader and possesses vast SThree knowledge and commercial experience.

Jason Watson (Finance Project Manager)

Jason began life at SThree seven years ago. He now leads all Finance related projects. During his time here, Jason has undertaken numerous Finance roles, notably: implementing IFRS, facilitating the floatation of the Group and dealing with the employee share schemes. His in-depth knowledge of SThree and unrivalled technical acumen are helping us build a top quality globalised financial service model.

Bianca Sachdev (Head of Decision Support)

Bianca started her career with SThree in 2009. Since then she’s entirely rebuilt the Decision Support team. It now delivers a much higher and more consistent level of support to the business. Her department is focused on providing strategic and commercial advice and heading up the budgeting and forecasting process. Prior to SThree, Bianca worked at Hudson UK and Toyota Australia. Her energy and commitment to supporting the business is a real plus.
